Meet Paul Mbalushimana, or as everyone likes to refer to him as “Mandazi”. He is a 13 year old student at Our Father School in Kagavu. He has five brothers, and six sisters and his father has two wives (this is a common practice in this village). Mandazi is blessed to call Our Father School his home, and views Patrick, Mary, and all of his teachers and classmates as his family. He is a kind young man, with a gentle voice, and a heart for worship. You can find him lending a hand to whoever may need help, serving others humbly and willingly. He is the first to greet you, and the last to leave you in any scenario, he is truly the definition of a steadfast friend and servant of the Lord. When he grows up he wants to become a doctor, which truly depicts the heart of servanthood that lays inside of this remarkable young man. His favorite Bible verse is: “ Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” Matthew 10:39 because it speaks of the sacrifice you must make in order to be an apostle of the Father. Mandazi will be starting his freshman year this week which means he will no longer be attending Our Father School and must go to the neighboring secondary school. Please be in prayer for him as he makes this new adjustment, and begins his secondary studies!

Meet Dinah Akampa,

This amazing young woman is 14 years old and attends Our Father Primary School. She lives school but her favorite subject is Mathematics. She has 4 sisters and 1 brother and is praying that one day she is able to become a nurse because she wants to be able to help people.

Her favorite verse is Psalm 23, which says:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,

and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Meet Eric Sabiti,

 

He is 9 years old and is a P4 (4th grade) student at Our Father Primary School. Eric comes from a large family, having 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Although he loves many of his courses in school, he is particularly interested in mathematics, and loves it! He hopes and prays that one day he will be able to finish his studies and become a pilot. His favorite verse is about how God is a kind and caring father, giving us all the desires of our hearts. Matthew 7:7 says:

 

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
